Overview
What it does
MediSync is an all-in-one pharmacy system: point of sale at the counter, with inventory, purchasing, accounts and HR behind it. It's made for the realities of running a pharmacy in Bangladesh, which means tens of thousands of medicines, strict expiry control, distributor dues, mobile payments, NBR VAT, and staff and customers who would rather work in Bangla.
Who it's for
- Retail chemists and drug stores need fast barcode billing, credit customer ledgers and rack-location lookup.
- Model pharmacies and polyclinic dispensaries need digitised prescriptions, doctor tagging, patient medication histories and controlled-drug compliance.
- Wholesale and multi-branch chains need central purchasing, inter-branch stock transfers, bulk pricing tiers and consolidated ledgers.
A medicine database that's already filled in
MediSync comes with more than 36,000 medicines registered in Bangladesh, each with its brand name, generic, manufacturer, strength, dosage form and pack size. When a brand is out of stock, the counter shows its generic substitutes with a price comparison. Every item can carry its exact location (rack, drawer or refrigerator) so staff find it fast, and items are classified as OTC or prescription-only, antibiotics, controlled substances, surgical consumables, infant nutrition or personal care. Barcodes and shelf labels print from built-in templates.
The counter
Scan a barcode, type a short code, or search by brand or generic name. Sell four tablets from a strip, one strip from a box or the whole box, and MediSync recalculates the price and the stock. Put one customer's cart on hold to serve the next, then pick it back up. Take split or partial payments across cash, card, bKash, Nagad, Rocket and customer credit, and attach the doctor's prescription to the memo.
Receipts print on 80mm or 58mm thermal paper, or as A4 and A5 invoices, in Bangla or English, with your branding and the VAT breakdown. Returns put stock back into the right batch and can issue store credit. MediSync works with barcode scanners, thermal and label printers, cash drawers and customer displays.
Expiry under control
Every consignment is tracked by batch, with its trade price, MRP, batch number, manufacturing date and expiry date. At the counter, MediSync sells the earliest-expiring batch first (FEFO). Alerts at 30, 60, 90 and 180 days before expiry sort stock into critical, near-expiry and expired lists, ready for supplier returns. Reorder levels draft purchase orders before you run out, and stock audits, damage write-offs and inter-branch transfers are built in.
Suppliers and purchasing
Requisitions, purchase orders, goods received notes and supplier invoices follow one flow. Distributor ledgers track trade offers, bonus units, cash discounts, credit terms, partial payments and cheques. Purchase forecasting suggests reorder quantities from weekly and seasonal sales.
Accounts and VAT
Counter sales, bank deposits, expenses, receivables and payables post to a double-entry ledger automatically. The cash book, bank book and mobile-banking settlements reconcile every day, and the day-end Z-report compares what the system expects with what's in the drawer before the counter closes. VAT is configurable for trade-price and retail rates, with NBR-compliant tax invoices and challan-compliant receipt numbering.
Customers and staff
Customer due ledgers (baki khata) carry credit limits, statements and reminders. SMS goes out for bills, loyalty updates and refill reminders for long-term medication such as diabetes and blood-pressure treatment, and you can run targeted promotional campaigns to customer groups. HR covers shifts and counter assignments, attendance (including biometric scanners), payroll, salary advances and payslips by SMS.
Control and reporting
Roles for super admin, branch manager, pharmacist, cashier and auditor keep sensitive actions in the right hands. A cashier can't see supplier cost prices or delete a bill. Every edit, discount override, reprint, back-dated entry and cancellation is logged with the time and the operator. More than 200 reports cover sales, stock and expiry, purchasing, accounts and customer credit, and every one exports to Excel, PDF or CSV.
What's next
MediSync runs in the cloud today. An offline mode that keeps the counter selling through power and internet outages, and syncs once the connection is back, is planned.
