Overview
What it does
LabMate runs a diagnostic center's whole day: registering patients, billing tests, collecting samples, entering and signing off results and delivering reports, along with the accounts, commissions, stock and payroll behind all of it. It's designed for centers in Bangladesh specifically, with Bangla and English throughout, Taka everywhere, bKash and Nagad, due billing, doctor referral commissions and the day-end summary that owners rely on.
Built for the front desk
Receptionists register a patient once, with an automatically generated patient ID, and find them again by ID, name or mobile number. LabMate warns if a mobile number is already on file and offers to load that patient instead. A patient's history shows every past bill, test and report.
Billing takes five clicks or fewer. Pick the tests and their prices fill in. Choose the referring doctor and their commission is calculated. The patient pays by cash, card, bKash, Nagad or Rocket, leaves a due, or mixes them, and the money receipt prints straight away on A4 or 58mm and 80mm thermal paper, with a barcode for tracking the sample and report. Discounts above your threshold need a supervisor's approval, and cancelled tests, refunds and voided bills are all recorded with a reason.
Dues can be searched by patient, mobile number or date, collected in part with the balance carried forward, and every collection gets its own receipt. Overdue accounts are highlighted.
From sample to signed report
Samples move from pending collection to collected, in processing, report ready and delivered, and urgent STAT samples go to the front of the lab's queue. Rejected samples are recorded with a reason so the front desk can re-collect.
Every test has a template with its result fields, units and reference ranges by age and gender. Technicians enter values into a form built from that template, and anything outside the normal range is highlighted on the printed report automatically. Reports carry the pathologist's name and signature, lock once verified, and can be reprinted from the archive at any time. Corrections to a locked report keep every version.
LabMate covers more than 20 test categories, from biochemistry, hematology and hormones to microbiology, histopathology and your own custom tests. Radiologists write findings and impressions for X-ray, ultrasound, ECG and echocardiography in a rich-text editor, starting from templates for each modality, and can attach images.
Reports print on your letterhead with your logo, address and license number, with the header in Bangla or English. Patients get an SMS when their report is ready, and every delivery is recorded with who handed it over and when.
Doctors and commissions
Each doctor's profile holds their specialty, qualifications and BMDC registration number, their visit charges and the days they're available. Referral commission, flat or percentage and set per test or per category, is calculated on every bill and posted to that doctor's ledger, where payments are recorded and the balance is always current. Referral agents who aren't doctors work the same way.
Appointments are booked by slot, with a limit on patients per slot, and patients receive a confirmation SMS. Visit fees are billed straight from the appointment, charged automatically as a first visit or a follow-up.
Stock, accounts and staff
Reagents are tracked by supplier, batch and expiry date. Daily usage is deducted from stock, and anything that falls below its reorder level is flagged. The cash book carries each day's closing balance forward as the next day's opening balance. Bank books cover multiple accounts, deposits, withdrawals and transfers, and bKash, Nagad and Rocket receipts are tracked and reconciled separately. Expenses are categorised, and payroll produces monthly salary sheets and printable salary slips, with salary advances deducted automatically.
Reports owners actually read
The day-end summary shows the day's bills, collections, new dues, tests performed and expenses at a glance. More than 20 built-in reports cover collections by user and by date, revenue by test, outstanding dues with aging, report status, referrals and commissions, the cash and bank books, expenses, reagent stock and payroll. Every report prints and exports to PDF and Excel.
Secure, and it works offline
Receptionists, lab technicians, pathologists, radiologists, accountants, HR managers and doctors each see only what their role needs, and admins can create custom roles with module-level permissions. Every change is logged with who made it and what it was before. LabMate runs on your center's own computer or local network, so billing and reporting keep working without an internet connection, and backups run automatically on a schedule.
